Executive Summary
MDS NE was commissioned by Krystal Technology UK Ltd to create a dedicated, modern meeting space at their commercial facilities on Neptune Road in Wallsend.
As principal contractor, MDS NE managed the complete lifecycle of the build, from initial site setup and RAMS coordination through structural alterations, fire compartmentation, electrical works, and final decorative handovers.
The Challenge & Client Brief
The client required a brand-new, self-contained meeting environment constructed within an existing commercial layout. Key requirements included:
Constructing high-spec acoustic and fire-rated partitioning to the underside of the existing Kingspan structure.
Structural wall penetration to supply and install custom top-opening uPVC exterior windows for natural light.
Complete ceiling installation with modern LED grid lighting.
Surface preparation and decorative integration with existing corridor finishes.
Full site safety compliance, waste management, and minimal operational disruption to surrounding commercial activities.
